Indianapolis, IN - Freshman Erica Rivard led Toledo for a second straight tournament as the Rockets posted a fifth-place showing on Tuesday at the Mid-American Conference Preview Tournament played at Brickyard Crossing. UT was forced to deal with windy conditions on its way to shooting a second-round team total of 317 for a two-round total of 617.

Rivard carded a final-round seven-over par 79 to finish in an 11^th-place tie with an eight-over par 152 (73-79) and edge junior Boram Lee who finished in 14^th place with a nine-over 153 (73-80). Sophomore Marguerite Johnson led the Rockets in today's action with a six-over par 78, good for a 21^st-place tie at 156 (78-78). Rounding out the UT lineup was freshman Michelle Hui tied for 41^st place at 161 (76-85) and senior Joanna Periversoff tied for 54^th place at 170 (90-80). Sophomore Paige Timmer competed as an individual and tied for 54^th place with a total of 170 (83-87).

"We had to deal with some challenging weather conditions with the strong winds," said Toledo head coach Nicole Hollingsworth. "I think we learned about our team over the past four days and we're going to try to use that in order to improve in the future."

Western Michigan's Laura Bavaird captured medalist honors with a two-under par 142 (72-70). She edged out Ball State's Kirsty O'Connor (73-70) and Eastern Michigan's Stephany Fleet (69-74) by a single stroke.

The Rockets will return to action on Sept. 22-23 at the Lady Northern Intercollegiate in University Park, PA.
