Toledo Defeats Cleveland State in Non-Conference Action, 5-1

TOLEDO, OH - Toledo (18-17) snapped a three-game non-conference losing streak this afternoon with a 5-1 triumph over Cleveland State (10-27) at Scott Park.
Senior Todd Thomas (5-2) scattered nine hits with one walk and five strikeouts over eight innings to earn the victory and tied his career high with eight innings. The Vikings' Dylan Henry (0-3) took the loss allowing eight hits and five runs (four earned).
Freshman 2B Tim Krofcheck led the Rockets' offense by tying his season high with three hits, including a pair of doubles.
Senior 1B Ryan Laude and junior C Nate McKeon opened the game's scoring with a pair of RBI singles in the bottom of the second inning. Toledo added an unearned run in the third inning before junior CF Drew Hoisington and Krofcheck added a run-scoring triple and double, respectively.
The Rockets will be back in action tomorrow night with a 7:00 p.m. non-conference matchup at Youngstown State.
