Softball Finishes 1-4 at Frost Classic

Final Stats
Chattanooga, TN - Toledo softball finished the weekend at the Frost Classic 1-4. The Rockets suffered at 13-8 loss to the University of Tennessee-Martin yesterday afternoon.
Starting out with a 6-1 score in heading into the third inning the Rocket offense connected to score four runs in the third inning. Sophomore Alison Hess hit a double to right center to send three runners home after freshman Kate Ricchio had scored on an unearned run.
The Rocket's offense continued to fight as they battled back in the fifth inning, scoring another three runs to bring the game within three. However in the bottom of the fifth Toledo's defense could not stop UT-Martin who scored another four runs to secure the win.
Junior Leslie Stong finished the weekend with a .750 batting average, 6 RBIs and one homerun. Junior Megan McCauley had two homeruns this weekend while freshman Mica Sanchez added another. On the mound senior Stephanie Moore led the Rockets with 14 strike outs.
Toledo will travel to Fresno, CA this Thursday, Mar 8-11 for a spring break tournament. The tournament teams will include Purdue, Penn State, Fresno State, Colorado State and BYU.
