Softball Finishes the Weekend 2-3

Final Stats
Oxford, OH - Toledo softball finished the weekend at the Miami Invitational 2-3 after losing to Purdue this morning 9-0 and to Michigan State 9-8 this afternoon. The Rockets tied for third with Youngstown State and ahead of host Miami who didn't win a game.
Purdue scored runs in each of the first four innings and banged out 12 hits as it captured a 9-0, five-inning win over the Rockets. UT recorded only had three hits against the Boilermakers.
In the second game, Toledo lost a heart-breaker to Michigan State. The Rockets were ahead 8-2 heading into the bottom of the seventh when the Spartans scored seven runs.
UT had 10 hits and seven RBI against Michigan State. Both Alison Hess and Megan McCauley had homeruns, Hess also recorded a double.
Toledo is 4-14 on the season and will travel to play Notre Dame this Wednesday, March 28 at 6 PM. They then return home to open their 2007 MAC season this Friday, March 30 at Scott Park field. The Rockets will play a double header against Buffalo at 1 PM and 3 PM. The 1 PM game will be broadcast live on BSCN.
