Rockets Lose in Championship to Host Alabama

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - Toledo suffered another loss to Alabama this afternoon (Feb. 18) in the championship game of the Hampton Inn BAMA BASH. The Rockets lost to Alabama by a 5-1 margin after losing to them 13-0 the day before.
Junior Leslie Stong was the only Rocket named to the All-Tournament team. Stong hit her second home run of the season in the sixth inning of the game today to score the only run for Toledo. Junior Alison Hess had a double in the second inning and was hit by her fourth pitch of the season.
Senior Stephanie Moore (0-3) took the loss for the Rockets pitching all six innings. Moore had one strikeout to end the sixth inning for the Rockets.
Sophomore Brie Ford finished the tournament with a .444 batting average heading to the plate 12 times where she had four hits and scored two runs.
Toledo is now 1-2 on the season and will travel to Chattanooga, TN to the Frost Classic hosted by Tennessee Tech March 2-4. Joining the Rockets at the tournament will be Mississippi State, University of Tennessee-Knoxville, Oakland and host Tennessee Tech.
