TOLEDO, OH - Senior Brad Heaven has earned second-team PING All-America honors, the Golf Coaches Association of America announced on Monday. A three-time honorable-mention PING All-America selection, Heaven is the first Rocket in school history to earn a spot on the first, second or third teams.
Heaven rewrote virtually the entire Rockets' recordbook during his career. He holds school marks for season stroke average (71.6), career stroke average (72.4), most tournament titles (seven), most Top 10 finishes in a season (10) and a career (28) as well as lowest 18-hole (tied with Tim Rice and Alan Murray), 36-hole and 54-hole rounds. In addition, he has earned MAC Golfer of the Year honors each of the last three seasons and was also named one of five finalists for the Byron Nelson Award earlier this spring.
"This is a tremendous honor for Brad and the program for him to be listed among the top 20 golfers in the country," UT Head Coach Jamie Mauntler said. "Brad's very deserving of this award after all the hard work he's put in, and we wish him all the best in his future professional golf career."
