Rockets Travel to Georgia for Augusta State Invitational

Toledo, OH - Toledo begins a busy month of April this weekend with a trip to Augusta, GA for the 27th annual Cleveland Golf/Augusta State Invitational. The Rockets will play 36 holes on Saturday, April 3 at the par-72, 7,231-yard Forest Hills Golf Course followed by 18 holes on Sunday, April 4.
In addition to the Rockets, 17 other teams from around the nation will participate in the tournament - Alabama, Augusta State, Clemson, Duke, East Tennessee State, Georgia, Georgia Southern, Minnesota, North Carolina, North Carolina State, North Florida, Notre Dame, South Carolina, Texas, UCLA, Virginia Tech and Wake Forest. No. 2 Clemson and No. 3 Georgia lead an impressive field that consists of five teams ranked in Golfstat's Top 10, nine in the Top 25 and 13 in the Top 50. The Rockets are currently at No. 36 in the rankings.
"We have a great challenge ahead of us this weekend," Head Coach Jamie Mauntler said. "This is the toughest tournament we will play in this year and it will give us a good indication of where we need to be at the end of our season."
Senior Brad Heaven leads the Mid-American Conference with a 71.8 stroke average. Juniors Justin Bertsch and Richard Kilpatrick are second and third on the team with 74.50 and 74.53 averages, respectively.
Following this weekend, the Rockets return to action at the Kepler Intercollegiate in Columbus, OH on April 17-18 followed by the FirstEnergy Intercollegiate in Akron, OH on April 24-25 and the Bruce Fossum Invitational on May 1-2
