Mitch Maier Named MAC West Division Player of the Week

TOLEDO, OH - Toledo junior catcher Mitch Maier (Novi, MI) was named the Mid-American Conference West Division Player of the Week by the MAC office today.
Maier hit .727 (8-for-11) in leading the Rockets to a 3-0 record in non-conference action last week with six runs scored, three home runs and 10 RBI. Maier had a 1.636 slugging percentage and a .786 on-base percentage. He was also a perfect 5-for-5 in stolen bases. In a game against Adrian last Wednesday, Maier was 5-for-5 with a career-high seven RBI and three runs scored. Included in those five hits were a pair of home runs.
Maier, one of three Rockets to start every game this season, leads the squad in batting average (.488), runs scored (33), hits (42), doubles (8), triples (2), home runs (5), walks (14), RBI's (27), total bases (69), slugging percentage (.802), on-base percentage (.573), multi-hit games (13), multiple RBI games (7) and stolen bases (10).
The two-time first-team All-MAC selection and the Rockets return to action tomorrow, Wednesday, April 9 when they travels to Euclid, OH to battle Cleveland State. The first pitch is scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
