Recap| Final Stats| Notes

Head Coach Stan Joplin:

"We can shoot the ball. Detroit is a pretty good defensive team. Wright State gave us open looks but today we knocked down some shots and I give our players a lot of credit. When you have Keith, Nick and Sammy shooting the ball so well from the outside, it makes us pretty tough to stop. We gave the players a little bit of freedom offensively and they took advantage of it."

"We really need this week off to concentrate on exams. We won't start preparing for Arkansas State until Wednesday. We're really happy with this win over a team than Detroit."

On Sammy Villegas:

"Sammy can shoot it off the dribble. When he starts learning how to take it to the basket and getting to the free throw line, I think he's going to be really tough to handle. He's only a freshman so we have him three more years. He can shoot it deep and he is one of the guys who has the green light."

Senior guard Nick Moore:

"I knew we could be a good shooting team this year but shooting over 60 percent the last two games is unbelievable. Hopefully we can keep that up."

"Good teams make runs at you. We withstood it and we were able to come out on top."

"We're a really tight unit. Guys are really playing together and looking to make the extra pass. It's a real cohesive unit. We have a lot of weapons to put out there."

Junior guard Keith Triplett:

"We had to come back in the first half after they got out to a big lead. Then we finished the game off good even though we turned the ball over a lot."

"We have some good shooters on our team. Some days the ball isn't going to fall for us but the last four games they have been falling. Some games we're going to have to win off our defense."

Detroit Head Coach Perry Watson:

"It's a tough loss for us when you look at the statistics and you see we won almost every statistical category. We had 16 offensive boards and forced 22 turnovers but Toledo shot the ball extremely well. They shot the ball with confidence and 14-of-20 from three-point range is pretty doggone good."

"I was really proud of how our guys executed and did what they had to do. But you guys shooting threes like Toledo did it makes it extremely difficult. I thought our guys kept fighting and wouldn't be deterred. Our hats are off to Toledo."

"We were in a position to win with our defense and rebounding. If some of those three don't go down then it could have been a different story."
