MOORE CLOSING IN ON UT'S CAREER THREE-POINT FIELD GOAL MARK
Senior guard Nick Moore is shooting five of-11 (45.5 percent) from three-point range in the Rockets' first two games. He is now 38 treys from passing former Rocket Chad Kamstra for first place on UT's all-time list.
TRIPLETT PICKING UP WHERE HE LEFT OFF
After leading the Rockets in rebounding with six boards per game last year, junior guard Keith Triplett is first on the team through two games with 5.0 per contest. Triplett also is tops on the team in steals for a second straight season with 2.5 per game, including four in last night's win over Kansas State.
VILLEGAS BEGINS ROCKET CAREER IN SOLID FASHION
Redshirt freshman guard Sammy Villegas is averaging 11.5 points and 2.5 three-point field goals per game in the Rockets'first two contests. He also hauled down a team-high six boards in UT's win over Kansas State.
KIRSH REJECTING THE OPPOSITION
Senior forward Milo Kirsh is averaging 2.5 blocked shots per game in UT's first two contests. Kirsh registered three rejections against BYU, the second-highest total of his Rocket career.
REBOUNDING IMPROVEMENT
The Rockets held a 29-21 advantage on the boards against Kansas State after being outrebounded by a 35-29 margin against Brigham Young.
In its two contests, the Rockets have averaged 10 offensive rebounds per game led by Milo Kirsh with 2.5 per contest.
ROCKETS REGISTER WIN OVER BIG 12 FOE
Toledo's win over Kansas State gave the Rockets a 6-7 all-time record against Big 12 schools. The last time UT played a Big 12 school was on Nov. 24, 1995, a 72-59 loss to Nebraska.
