Men's Basketball: Toledo Topples Kansas State, 58-50

CHARLOTTE AMALIE, U.S. Virgin Islands (AP) - Senior guard Nick Moore scored 19 points to lead Toledo (1-1) to a 58-50 victory over Kansas State (0-2) at the Paradise Jam tournament on Sunday night. The Rockets never trailed in the contest and opened the game with a 12-0 run until the Wildcats netted their first basket with 14:37 remaining in the first half.
Junior guard Keith Triplett notched 11 points, five rebounds and a team-high four steals for UT including a critical three-pointer with 6:27 to play for a 50-45 advantage. The Rockets' two-point advantage before Triplett's trey was the smallest lead UT enjoyed in the game.
Redshirt freshman guard Sammy Villegas added 10 points and a team-high six boards for the Rockets (1-1).
Gilson DeJesus had 14 points and Pervis Pasco scored eight for the Wildcats (0-2). Tim Ellis and Jarrett Hart each had seven points.
Toledo will now face the winner of the Michigan-Virginia Tech contest on Monday, Nov. 25 at 6:15 p.m. AST.
