Women's Volleyball Drops 3-0 Decision to MAC Co-Leader Ball State

TOLEDO, OH - Toledo (7-14, 4-8 MAC) ran into one of the top teams in the Mid-American Conference tonight in Ball State (18-4, 11-1 MAC) resulting in a 3-0 (15-11, 15-3, 15-5) setback at Savage Hall.
The Rockets jumped on the Cardinals early and surged to a 5-1 advantage. After BSU tied the game at 5-5, the Rockets took a 7-5 lead. The Cardinals then rattled off four straight points to take a 9-7 advantage, a lead they would never relinquish.
Sophomore Jessica Buck and junior Lindsey Kretzmann led the Rocket attack with eight kills apiece. Junior Theresa Estes and sophomore Bitsy Mayhle paced the Rockets defensively with 11 and 10 digs, respectively.
Megan Hammons led Ball State with 25 kills, a .611 attack percentage and 13 digs.
The Rockets will return to action again when they hit the road to face arch-rival Bowling Green on Friday, Nov. 3.
