Box Score

BUFFALO, NY - Toledo (6-11, 3-5 MAC) snapped a three-match losing streak this afternoon with a 3-1 (11-15, 15-12, 15-7, 15-11) road victory over Buffalo (4-15, 0-8 MAC). The victory over the Bulls improved the Rockets' all-time record vs. Buffalo to 5-0.

Sophomore Bitsy Mayhle led UT's offense with 20 kills. Also reaching double figures in kills for Toledo were sophomores Jessica Buck (12 kills), Lindsey Kretzmann (11 kills) and Heidi Neumeister (10 kills). Redshirt freshman Carrie McCaw (33 assists) and sophomore Kacy Stevens (22 assists) shared the setting duties in guiding the Rockets to the victory.

Mayhle also led the defensive charge with a team-high 13 digs as four other Rockets -- McCaw (9 digs), Stevens (9 digs), junior Kelly Burt (8 digs) and junior Theresa Estes (8 digs) -- each notched eight digs or more. Buck led UT's efforts at the net with a season-high seven blocks.

"It was a good team win for us today," UT Head Coach Kent Miller said. "Our setters really distributed the ball well and allowed us to show a lot of diversity on offense. We also played well under pressure and adjusted nicely when we were forced to."

The Rockets will return to action next weekend with a pair of road matches. On Friday, Oct. 20, UT will face Western Michigan in Kalamazoo, MI before traveling to Mt. Pleasant, MI to meet Central Michigan on Saturday, Oct. 21.
