Hall of Fame
Record books are often written in pencil because of the constant changes, but with a competitor like Rhonda King-Randolph, one may as well use permanent ink. Eight years after playing her last inning as a Rocket first baseman, she is still in the record book as leader in six different categories - slugging percentage (.494), doubles (42), home runs (19), runs batted in (131), total bases (311) and walks (79). While rewriting the record books, King-Randolph received numerous awards for her efforts. She was the first female athlete in Rocket history to earn All-America first-team honors. As a three-time All-MAC performer, she helped lead the Rockets to 131 wins, including a MAC title and a seventh-place finish in the 1989 College World Series. She graduated from UT in 1990 with a degree in public relations and is currently head softball coach at Kenyon College in Gambier, Ohio. She resides in Marengo, Ohio with husband Les, and sons Cole and Cade. King-Randolph is the third softball player in Rocket history to be inducted into The Varsity 'T' Hall of Fame, joining former teammates Tami (Johnston) Summers and Patty (Barrett) Recker.
