Kiptanui owns best 5000m time in conference and seventh best in country
TOLEDO, Ohio – Toledo women's track & field junior Dorcas Kiptanui was named the Mid-American Conference Track Athlete of the Week, the league office announced on Tuesday.
Kiptanui competed at the Raleigh Relays in Raleigh, N.C. this weekend, recording a final time of 15:54.39 in the 5000m event to finish in 11th place in a highly competitive national meet. Kiptanui's final time ranks second in UT's all-time top-10.
The junior owns the best 5000m time in the MAC and ranks seventh in the country with her mark.
UT returns to action on Saturday, April 4 at the Oliver Nikoloff Invitational in Cincinnati, Ohio.
