Jacob Condra-Bogan was announced as the Toledo baseball program's pitching coach in July 2025. He brings experience leading one of the Big South's top staffs for four seasons at USC Upstate.

In his first season leading the Rockets’ pitching staff, Jacob Condra-Bogan guided Toledo to a successful season statistically and in awards, as the Rockets won 32 games, placed third in the MAC and reached the MAC Tournament title game.

The Rockets swept the major MAC pitching awards, with Nathan Leininger converting to a starter and becoming the MAC Pitcher of the Year and a First Team All-MAC selection. Leininger led or was tied for the MAC lead with a 2.81 ERA, a .211 opponent average, 96.0 innings pitched and nine wins. He was second with 90 strikeouts. Leininger threw a nine-inning complete game in the MAC Tournament, Toledo’s first nine-inning complete game since 2018. Hayden Frey was named the MAC Freshman Pitcher of the Year and a Second Team All-MAC selection with a 3.79 ERA, a .234 opponent average and 78.1 innings pitched, all ranking top 10 in the MAC. Leininger would later be named as an ABCA First Team All-Region selection, and he and Michael Fliss were selected to the MAC All-Tournament Team for their starts in Rocket tournament victories.

Toledo led the MAC with 550 strikeouts, which set a single-season program record. Toledo also tied the league high with three shutouts as a staff and second in the MAC with a 5.32 ERA and a .255 opponent average. The Rockets averaged 9.7 strikeouts per nine innings, 39th in Division I.

Throughout his coaching career, Condra-Bogan's pitchers have consistently led the league or been near the top in major statistical categories, including ERA, opponent batting average, saves and strikeouts. USC Upstate was atop the Big South in 2025 in ERA (5.47), strikeouts (503), K/9 (8.5), opponent average (.264), fewest doubles allowed (89) and fewest hit by pitches (67). The Spartans were top-three in the Big South with a team ERA under-6, and were top-two in opponent batting average in every season of Condra-Bogan's tenure.

USC Upstate also set several program pitching records under Condra-Bogan in 2024, including in strikeouts (520), K/9 (8.9) and strikeout-to-walk ratio (2.00).

Spartan pitchers piled up many awards under Condra-Bogan, with five All-Big South selections apiece in 2023 and 2025. Condra-Bogan also coached major conference award winners including 2025 Newcomer of the Year Amp Phillips and 2022 Freshman of the Year and Freshman All-American Noah Sullivan.

Condra-Bogan's pitchers led to historic overall team success for USC Upstate. The Spartans won 35, 38, 36 and 36 games during his four seasons leading the pitching staff, with the 38 victories in 2023 marking a program record. In conference play, USC Upstate won at 16 games in each season and finished top-two in the league in Condra-Bogan's first three seasons in Spartanburg before breaking through for the regular-season and tournament titles last season. 2025 was USC Upstate's first-ever NCAA Regional appearance.

Before beginning his coaching career, Condra-Bogan was drafted by the Toronto Blue Jays in the 32nd round of the MLB Draft in 2017. He spent time in the Kansas City Royals' and Washington Nationals' organizations during his professional playing career, which lasted through 2021.

The Woodruff, South Carolina native graduated with a bachelor's degree in government from Wofford College in 2016, where he went 8-6 in 62 appearances, pitched 128.0 innings with a 5.48 ERA and 118 strikeouts. Condra-Bogan also pitched for Georgia Southern in 2017 with a 4.50 ERA over 56.0 innings, tallying a 5-3 record over 19 appearances and six starts. He earned his Master's in Sport Management from Georgia Southern in 2018.
