Ella Zoerhoff Earns MAC Offensive Player of the Week

TOLEDO, Ohio – Toledo sophomore forward Ella Zoerhoff has been named the Mid-American Conference Offensive Player of the Week after scoring four goals in two Rocket wins, the league office announced on Monday.

Zoerhoff, the MAC's leading scorer, took the weekly honor for the first time in her career.

On Thursday, the Rocket striker scored a dramatic, last-second goal to win a 1-0 match at Detroit Mercy. Zoerhoff scored on a free kick from about 20 yards out. She took a game-high nine shots, four on goal, and generated numerous chances for the Rockets' offense.

In Sunday's win over Mercyhurst, Zoerhoff scored a tying goal from long range in the seventh minute. Then, she converted on back-to-back penalty kicks to complete the first-half hat trick and boost the Rockets to a 6-2 victory. Toledo's six goals were its most in match since 2021.

Zoerhoff's hat trick was Toledo's first since Stephanie Currie on Sept. 22, 2019 and first to be reached in the first half since Krysten Lynn on Sept. 2, 2011.

Through three matches, Zoerhoff is tied for second in the nation in goals per game (1.67) and tied for fifth in total goals (5).
