Cadence Christie advances to 800m finals on Saturday
MUNCIE, Ind. – Toledo senior Hannah Ielfield earned a podium finish in the 3000m steeplechase to lead the Rockets on day two of the Mid-American Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Muncie, Ind.
Ielfield tallied a fifth-place finish with a final time of 10:28.57, scoring four points in her first MAC Outdoor Championship meet. Teammate Gabby Phelan followed behind, taking 11th in the event with a mark of 10:44.42.
In the 800m trials, Cadence Christie crossed the finish line with a personal best time of 2:09.28 to qualify for the finals run on Saturday. Christie's time also ranks seventh all-time in program history.
Freshmen Bralynne Dunn and Sydney Stepanovich competed in the 100m trials. Dunn placed 13th with a time of 11.94 while Stepanovich followed in 17th with a mark of 12.03.
Up Next
Toledo will conclude the MAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Saturday, May 16. The Rockets will see action in six final events throughout the day, beginning at 11:10 a.m.
