Sophomore Brooklyn Millard and freshman Alice Tonts register Rockets' best rounds of tourney
AKRON, Ohio – Sophomore Brooklyn Millard and freshman Alice Tonts each registered the Rockets' best rounds of the tournament to lead the way in Tuesday's final round of the Mid-American Conference Women's Golf Championships. The Rockets posted their best round of the tournament at the par-70, 6,105-yard Firestone Country Club to move up one spot and finish ninth in the team standings.
Millard and Tonts each carded three-over par 73s to close out the tourney. Millard started strong with three birdies in her first 12 holes to get to two-under par, while Tonts tallied two birdies in her final six holes to finish at three-over.
No. 28 Kent State finished at nine-under par to extend its streak of winning every MAC Women's Golf Championship to 27 in a row. No. 19 Eastern Michigan finished in second place at 13-over par. The Golden Flashes' Veronika Kedronová captured medalist honors with a 54-hole total of seven-under par for a five-stroke victory.
