Hungary native receives weekly honor for first time as a Rocket
TOLEDO, Ohio – Senior Bence Kotel was named the Mid-American Conference Men's Golfer of the Week on Friday.
A Tihany, Hungary native, Kotel tied for 25th place to lead Toledo to an eighth-place showing at Stetson's Sam Ryder Intercollegiate earlier this week. Kotel finished with a five-over par 221 after shooting an even-par 72 in the final round.
Kotel leads the Rockets with a career-low 71.9 stroke average and has registered three Top 10 showings in seven tournaments this year.
Kotel and the Rockets will return to action with a trip to California for the Pauma Valley Invitational on Monday-Wednesday, March 16-18.
