Rockets Roll to Series Victory Over UMass, 16-3
3/21/2026 1:26:00 PM | Softball
Toledo's offense explodes for season-highs in runs and hits on Saturday to win its second straight series
The Rockets offense exploded for 16 runs on 18 hits, setting a season-best mark on both. UTÂ took the series from UMass, 2-1, and has won six out of its last eight contests.
Katie McDonald (6-4) earned her second-straight win and sixth in the last seven appearances. The junior allowed just one run and one hit, both season lows. Freshmen Olivia Signorino and Lexi Johnson appeared in relief, allowing just four hits in 2.0 innings of work.
Five Rockets turned in multi-hit outings, led by Eli Enriquez, Samantha Bolding and Audrey Miller with three hits each. Bolding blasted her sixth home run of the season while both Bolding and Miller tallied three RBIs. Freshman Ava Golightly recorded her first career triple and scored a career-best three runs to go along with two RBIs.
Quoting Head Coach Jessica Bracamonte
"Could not be more proud of the way we responded after game one. Beating a team three times is really tough, so our goal is always to at least win the series. Accomplishing that goal the first two conference series is huge. We learned a lot from our failures in game one and used them to our advantage to finish strong and win the series. Our offensive was explosive all throughout the lineup, our pitching staff found a way to get it done in the circle, and our defense was solid. Another great team effort to get the job done."
