TOLEDO, Ohio - University of Toledo Head Women's Golf Coach Ali Green announced the addition of Alice Tonts (Perth, Australia) to the Rockets' program on Thursday. Tonts will begin attending the University of Toledo in the 2025-26 academic year.
"We're excited to welcome Alice to our team as she begins her collegiate golf journey," Green said. "Alice brings a strong foundation, a great attitude, and a clear passion for the game. We look forward to watching her grow and contribute to our program over the next four years."
Tonts competed for the Western Australia State School Sport Team in the Australian Under 18s Golf Championships in 2022, 2023 and 2024 and was team captain and state medalist last year. She also represented Golf Western Australia at the Australian Junior Amateur and the Australian Junior Interstate Series, where she won three out of four matches.
Among her accolades, Tonts claimed victory at the 2024 Independent Girls' Schools' Sports Association Golf Championship. She has also held club champion titles at two Western Australia's golf clubs — winning the Women's Division 1 Championship at Mount Lawley Golf Club in 2022 and becoming the Full Female Member Club Champion at the Western Australian Golf Club in 2023.
Tonts consistently ranked among the top junior golfers in the country, finishing in the top 50 of the Australian Junior Order of Merit in both 2023 and 2024. She also broke into the top 100 of the Australian Women's Order of Merit in 2024.
