Rockets Move On in MAC Tournament After 6-2 Elimination-Game Victory over Eastern Michigan

Toledo advances to face No. 3 seed Ball State on Saturday morning

AVON, Ohio – The Toledo baseball team will continue its run in the 2025 Mid-American Conference Tournament after a 6-2 triumph over Eastern Michigan at Crushers Stadium on Friday night.

The Rockets (30-28) took the lead for good with a three-run first inning and expanded their advantage to 6-1 with single runs in the fifth, sixth and seventh innings. Toledo won an elimination game in its fifth-straight MAC Tournament appearance, its sixth elimination-game win since 2017. Toledo has also won multiple games in the tournament for the second-consecutive season.

Toledo has also won 30 games in a season for the second time under Rob Reinstetle, having reached 33 victories in 2022.

The Rockets will move on to play No. 3 seed Ball State in another elimination contest on Saturday, May 24. First pitch will be at 10:00 a.m. on ESPN+.

Quoting Head Coach Rob Reinstetle
"At this point, it's all about winning one at a time and staying alive. We did that tonight. Offensively, we came out and got an early lead, and were able to extend it late in the game. The story of the day was our freshman pitchers Brady Sasse and Braden Curry. They were awesome and saved our bullpen for tomorrow. We're still alive and need to keep swinging it and get some guys to step up on the mound to keep advancing."
