CHICAGO – The Toledo men's tennis team dropped a Mid-American Conference match to UIC, 4-3, on Thursday afternoon in Chicago.

Poonthong Komolpisut and Hanamichi Carvajal combined for a 6-1 win on the No. 1 doubles court, but it was not enough as UIC (14-4, 5-2 MAC) took the No. 2 and 3 courts to claim the doubles point and an early 1-0 lead.

In singles play, the Flames tallied wins on the No. 2 and 3 courts to extend the lead, 3-0. Komolpisut put the Rockets on the board with a three-set victory on the No. 1 court. UIC clinched match point with a win over Cole Cozens on the No. 4 court.

Toledo finished out the match strong, as Lucas Britez recorded a straight set win on the No. 6 court. Matias Olivero closed out play with a win on the No. 3 court, 2-6, 6-4, 11-9.
