Rockets Rally Against Broncos to Complete Sweep at Scott Park

Five-run fifth inning blasts Toledo to 8-5 victory in series finale

TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo baseball team rallied from an early deficit to finish off a weekend sweep over Western Michigan in an 8-5 triumph at Scott Park on Saturday.

The Rockets (16-22, 10-11 MAC) swept a series for the first time this season for their first sweep since May 3-5, 2024 against Eastern Michigan. After the Broncos (10-26, 6-12 MAC) took an early 3-0 lead, the Rockets chipped away before taking the lead for good with a five-run sixth inning. Cole Cahill's three-run home run with no outs proved to be the game-winner.

Quoting Head Coach Rob Reinstetle
"That was another great game for us today. Sweeping is never easy, and we sure needed it to stay right in the hunt for the tournament. I thought we played well all weekend and need to keep that up as we move forward in the coming weeks. We control our own destiny at this point."
