Toledo Splits Squads Between Hillsdale and Wake Forest This Week

Rockets set to compete in GINA Relays and Wake Forest Invitational

TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo women's track and field team is set to compete in two meets this weekend. Seven Rockets will run at the Hillsdale GINA Relays on Thursday and Friday, while 18 distance runners will participate in the Wake Forest Invitational on Friday.

Action at the Hillsdale GINA Relays in Hillsdale, Mich. will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday with the javelin and 1:00 p.m. on Friday with the triple jump. At the Wake Forest Invitational, events begin at 11:50 a.m. on Friday with the 3000m steeplechase.

LAST TIME OUT
The Rockets had eight of the top-10 finishers in the 1500m event at the We Fly Challenge in Muncie, Ind. last weekend. Sophomore Lianna Surtz led the way with a first-place finish (4:25.75) while Karina James (4:25.92) and Alex Bauer (4:27.08) rounded out the top three.

Emily Vining took first in the 3000m steeplechase (10:35.60) and Cadence Christie placed second in the 800m (2:14.60).

Loann Brelivet and Peter McMahon competed in the men's 1500m. Brelivet finished first (3:58.15) while McMahon took second (3:59.66).
