Game Two suspended and will resume on Saturday

MUNCIE, Ind. – The Toledo softball team dropped the first game of a scheduled doubleheader, 13-8, to Ball State on Friday afternoon in Muncie, Ind. The second game of the doubleheader was tied 14-14 in the eighth inning when it was suspended due to darkness. Seven Rockets recorded hits, with Payton Abiley leading the way with three safeties, tying her career-high. Sophomore Eliza Maloney crushed a three-run homer to center, marking the first home run of her career.

Toledo and Ball State traded runs throughout the game until the Cardinals put the game away with six runs in the bottom of the sixth inning. The Rockets loaded the bases in the top of the seventh but were unable to score.
