Toledo competes in first road series of conference play

TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo softball team will hit the road for its first Mid-American Conference road series of the season. The Rockets and Cardinals will play a three-game series this Friday-Saturday, March 21-22. All matchups will be streamed on ESPN+.

Toledo owns an overall record of 6-16 (1-2 MAC).
The Rockets claimed the series finale over Western Michigan by hitting a school-record seven home runs in a 16-7 win. Samantha Bolding, Audrey Miller and Kendra VanderLugt each recorded two home runs on Saturday. Miller tallied her second grand slam of her career and added six RBIs while VanderLugt went a perfect 4-for-4 at the plate.
Toledo ranks second in the conference in double plays (11), stolen bases per game (1.55), sacrifice bunts (18) and total stolen bases (34).
Sidney Griffith owns a batting average of .351 and has reached base in 13 straight games. Miller leads the team in RBIs (21) and slugging percentage (.617) while Bolding is second on the team in RBIs (18) and batting average (.328).
Maris Barbato currently ranks third in the MAC and 55^th nationally in toughest to strike out, striking out twice in 55 at-bat appearances.
Sophia Knight leads the squad with a 3.20 ERA and a 4-7 record. The senior has thrown 70.0 innings in 16 appearances. Knight has struck out 33 batters this season, totaling 325 career strikeouts which is good for eighth in program history.
