MORGANTOWN, W. Va. – Freshman
Jacklynka Scholten registered her fifth-straight singles match win against West Virginia on Saturday morning, but it wasn't enough as the Rockets fell to the Mountaineers in Morgantown, W. Va., 4-1.
West Virginia (5-4) took the doubles point after claiming wins on the No. 2 court and the No. 3 courts.
In singles play, the Mountaineers took a 3-0 lead after
Gaby Rondon fell in straight sets on the No. 2 court and
Neha Guru dropped a 6-4, 6-3 set on the No. 4 court. Freshman Scholten earned a straight-set victory over Maja Dodik on the No. 4 court to get Toledo on the board, 3-1.
West Virginia clinched the match victory with a three-set win over
Audrey Moutama on the No. 1 court. The No. 5 and No. 6 courts went unfinished.
