Toledo Opens 2025 Campaign Against Tiffin

Rockets and Dragons begin competition at 1:00 p.m. at Twos Athletic Club
TOLEDO, Ohio – Toledo women's tennis kicks off its 2025 dual season against Tiffin at home on Friday. First serve is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. from Twos Athletic Club.
ABOUT THE ROCKETS
Toledo is coming off back-to-back Mid-American Conference regular season championship crowns, as well as its first-ever NCAA Championship appearance in 2024. Head Coach Tracy Mauntler was named the 2024 MAC Coach of the Year while Cassie Alcala earned MAC Player of the Year honors. The Rockets concluded the season ranked No. 7 in the Midwest Region by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA).
Toledo returns three players from the 2024 championship team, including sophomores Jone Ibanez and Gaby Rondon and junior Audrey Moutama. The squad welcomes four freshmen into the fold, Neha Guru, Annika Munson, Catherine Rhegness and Jacklynka Scholten.
FALL SEASON RECAP
The Rockets compiled an overall 40-36 record through four fall tournaments. Scholten earned her first wins over conference opponents at the MAC Individual Fall Championships while competing alongside Rondon in doubles play.
ABOUT TIFFIN
Tiffin posted an overall record of 28-3 during the 2024 dual season, falling in the Division II regional final to Wayne State. In fall action, Emily Barrett and Jemimah Choi reached the semifinal match in doubles play during the ITA Championships.
UP NEXT
The Rockets will host Cleveland State on Friday, Jan. 31. First serve from Twos Athletic Club is set for 1:00 p.m.
