Justin Ingram has been promoted to associate head coach, Head Basketball CoachÂ
Tod Kowalczyk announced on Thursday.
"Justin has been an amazing hire for us," Kowalczyk said. "I'm very pleased with his growth and development since he joined our staff. He's a huge reason why we have won four straight MAC championships. Justin has earned this promotion and is certainly deserving of it. He's prepared to become a Division I head coach and is future is unbelievably bright. I think the world of Justin and his family, and I want to thank him for all he has done for our program."
Ingram will be the second associate head coach on Kowalczyk's staff, joining
Jeff Massey who joined the Rockets' program prior to the 2014-15 season.
"It's nice to have two associate head coaches who have unbelievable experience," Kowalczyk said. "
Jeff Massey has been with us for 11 seasons and has done amazing things for this program as well. Justin and Jeff work exceptionally well together and are big parts of the consistent success we have attained."
Ingram completed his seventh season with the Rockets' basketball program this past March. During his time on the Toledo bench, Ingram has helped UT to a 159-71 (.691) record, appearances in the 2019, 2021, 2022 and 2023 National Invitation Tournaments (NIT), four straight outright MAC titles (2020-21, 2021-22, 2022-23, 2023-24) as well as two outright MAC West Division titles (2017-18, 2018-19).

The Rockets have had 12 different players earn all-league honors since Ingram joined UT's coaching staff. Highlighting the honorees were three MAC Players of the Year - RayJ Dennis (2022-23), Tre'Shaun Fletcher (2017-18), and Marreon Jackson (2020-21) - as well as 2022 NBA Draft pick Ryan Rollins.

A Lansing, Mich. native, Ingram also enjoyed a standout playing career for the Rockets that resulted in him being inducted into Toledo's Varsity 'T' Hall of Fame in 2014. He graduated from Toledo in 2007 with a bachelor's degree in communication.Â
Ingram resides in Toledo with his wife Tie and two sons, Justin, Jr. (10) and Jaxson (6).
