Rockets to play 22 conference contests for first time ever with true round-robin format
TOLEDO, Ohio - The Toledo men's basketball program's Mid-American Conference schedule for the 2026-27 season was announced by the league office on Wednesday. The Rockets' non-conference slate is expected to be announced later this month.
The conference schedule will feature 22 contests for the first time ever with each school facing each other twice in a true round-robin format.
The Rockets will open their conference campaign on the road at Ohio on Wednesday, Dec. 2. Toledo will play its first MAC home game vs. Kent State on Saturday, Dec. 5 in Savage Arena.
The Rockets' remaining MAC home dates are vs. Eastern Michigan (Dec. 9), Miami (Jan. 5), Buffalo (Jan. 9), Akron (Jan. 16), Central Michigan (Jan. 26), Ball State (Feb. 9), Western Michigan (Feb. 13), Bowling Green (Feb. 20), UMass (Mar. 2) and Ohio (Mar. 5).
The conference office will release a full men's basketball television schedule at a later date, with Saturday games in January and February potentially being moved to Friday nights.
The MAC Tournament will be held March 10-13 in Cleveland's Rocket Arena.

Toledo registered its ninth-straight winning season last year with a 19-15 record under Head Coach Tod Kowalczyk. The 2025-26 campaign saw Toledo make a run to the MAC Championship Game after earning a top-four seed in the tournament for a sixth-straight season. The Rockets defeated Bowling Green (77-76) in the quarterfinals and UMass (77-67) in the semifinals before falling in the championship game to Akron (79-76).Â
The Rockets have not experienced a losing season since Kowalczyk's first year in the 2010-11 season and have won five Mid-American Conference titles during his tenure.
