Toledo concludes 2024 outdoor season on Saturday

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Three Toledo women's track & field student-athletes competed in the fourth and final day of the 2024 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field East Regional, with Laura Nicholson highlighting the day by finishing just one spot away from qualifying for the NCAA championships in the 1,500m quarterfinals at the University of Kentucky Track & Field Complex on Saturday.

The graduate student Nicholson ran the 1,500m in a time of 4:11.49, breaking her previous record of 4:11.65 set at the Wake Forest Invitational on April 19. Nicholson's PR time is also good for the second-fastest in program history. She finished eighth in her heat and 13th overall.

Junior Vilde Henriksen finished the 3,000m steeplechase in 10:37.42, placing 34th overall and 10th in the second heat.

Freshman Mercy Kinyanjui finished the 5,000m in 16:47.16, taking 38th place overall and 19th in the second heat.

With no qualifiers for the NCAA Championships, Toledo concludes its 2024 outdoor track & field season.
