Palmer Yenrick shoots even-par 71 to lead Toledo in final round
URBANA, Ill. – Senior Palmer Yenrick carded an even-par 71 on Sunday to lead the Toledo men's golf team to a sixth-place showing at the Fighting Illini Spring Collegiate. No. 18 Illinois captured the tournament title at 12-over par at the par-71, 7,503-yard Atkins Golf Club.
Yenrick (74-77-71) tied for 19th place in the individual standings at nine-over par 222 with senior Barend Botha (73-75-74).
Senior Jamie Tofte Nielsen (75-72-77) finished two shots behind the aforementioned duo and tied for 26th place at 11-over par 224.
Sophomore Mads Jensen (40th/76-74-78=228) and junior CJ van Wyk (T-43rd/74-76-79=229) rounded out the Rockets' lineup.
The Rockets will return to action next weekend when it hosts the Mid-American Conference Championships in Westfield, Ind. The tournament will be played on Friday-Sunday, April 26-28 at The Club at Chatham Hills.
