Rockets Sweep MAC Player of the Week Honors

TOLEDO, Ohio – Toledo's Pawit Sornlaksup and Marko Galic swept this week's Mid-American Conference Singles and Doubles Team of the Week honors, the league announced on Tuesday. Sornlaksup was named Singles Player of the Week for the second time, while he and Galic were tabbed the Doubles Team of the Week for the third time this season.

Sornlaksup clinched match point at the No. 1 singles court in Toledo's 4-3 victory at Western Michigan on Sunday afternoon. His win avenged his defeat to Anton Arzhankin, who ended Sornlaksup's two-year undefeated streak (22-0) on March 17. Sornlaksup lost the first set 6-2, fought back to win the second set 6-4, and clinched the tiebreaker 6-2 that broke the 3-3 deadlock to win the match for the Rockets. At Ball State on Friday, Sornlaksup returned to the lineup and took the No. 1 court in two sets from Nathaniel Webster.

Toledo took a 1-0 match lead at Ball State after winning the doubles point with the help from Sornlaksup and Galic defeating the Cardinals' Vince Orlando and Nathaniel Webster, 6-4. Two days later, UT's duo swept WMU's Jackson Boone/ Anton Arzhankin 6-0.

Toledo will take the court once again with UIC on Friday, April 5 and Northern Illinois on Sunday, April 7 at Shadow Valley Tennis Club.
