TOLEDO, Ohio – Coming off a six-game MAC winning streak, the Toledo softball team returns to the field for five conference games this week. The Rockets (16-13, 7-2 MAC) will play a doubleheader at Central Michigan on Tuesday, April 2, followed by a three-game home series vs. Kent State on Saturday-Sunday, April 6-7.
The Rockets are currently in second place in the Mid-American Conference standings, two full games behind league leader and defending MAC Champion Miami (9-0).

Toledo is coming off another Mid-American Conference sweep, this time at home vs. Ball State last weekend. UT won a doubleheader on Friday, 7-3 and 2-1, before clinching the series with a 9-4 victory on Saturday afternoon. The Rockets have won their last six league games and have also won the home opener in each of head coach

Rockets on Record
- Senior Jenna Kroll recorded her 100th career RBI in Friday's nightcap and has a 101 on her resume heading into this week's competition. Kroll ranks No. 4 in UT history and is 11 away from passing No. 3 Lindsey Tobias (111 from 2010-13). Rhonda King (1989-91) holds the school record with 131 RBIs.
- Fifth-year senior Riley Mohr hit one double this weekend to bring her career total to 31. She is one away from adding her name to the program's top 10 list. Chandler Rice (2014-17) leads the program with 50 doubles in her career.
- The Rockets' collective .311 batting average is the best on record so far, and their .424 slugging percentage is second-best in school history. Toledo's best slugging percentage was .426 by the 2021 squad.
About Central Michigan (6-21, 3-3 MAC)
- Central Michigan took the series opener at Ohio last week but lost the final two games of the series at the Ohio Softball Field.
- The Chippewas are collectively hitting .229 this season while its bullpen has a 4.40 ERA and has held opponents to a .296 average.
- Freshman Carly Sleeman leads CMU with a .310 average and is tied for second in the league with 11 doubles, while sophomore Mackenzie Langan has a 3.07 ERA through 29.2 innings of work in the circle.
About Kent State (18-10, 4-2 MAC)
- Kent State took one of three games against Northern Illinois last week, earning its first two losses in conference play.
- The Golden Flashes are the second-best hitting team with a .316 average this year, behind Miami (.358), while their pitching staff has a combined 3.09 ERA.
- Junior Savannah Wing is hitting .386 at the plate with 12 doubles and 27 RBIs. In the circle, sophomore Macy Irelan is second in the MAC with a 1.97 ERA, and third in the conference with 94 strikeouts in 99.2 innings of work.
- KSU will play a doubleheader with Ohio on Tuesday before heading to Toledo this weekend.
On Deck
Toledo will head back on the road next weekend to play three games vs. Northern Illinois at Mary M. Bell Field in DeKalb, Ill. on Friday-Saturday, April 12-13.
