4000m DMR Team earns first-team All-MAC honors, while Mercy Kinyanjui claims second-team honors for runner-up finish in 3000 meters
TOLEDO, Ohio – Toledo's Lianna Surtz, Cadence Christie, Krystal Clark, Laura Nicholson and Mercy Kinyanjui received All-MAC honors for their performances at the 2024 Mid-American Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships in Ypsilanti, Mich., the MAC office announced on Wednesday.
Surtz, Christie, Clark, and Nicholson earned first-team All-MAC honors for their victory in the 4000m distance medley relay last Friday, crossing the finish line at 11:30.45, the second-fastest time in Toledo history.
Kinyanjui took second place in the 3000 meters on Saturday, completing the race in 9:26.44 to earn second-team All-MAC recognition.
The Rockets will begin the outdoor portion of their season on Friday, March 22 at the Blizzard Buster in Oxford, Ohio.
