Taylor Alt Named to First Team All-MAC; Grace Freiberger and Sierra Pertzborn earn All-Freshman Team honors

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Three members of the Toledo women's volleyball team earned postseason Mid-American Conference honors, the conference office announced on Wednesday.

Senior Taylor Alt was named to the All-MAC First Team while Grace Freiberger and Sierra Pertzborn earned nods to the league's All-Freshman Team.

Alt is a five-time, first-team all-conference selection. She is the first player in Toledo history to earn All-MAC honors five times. She ranked third in the conference, averaging 3.69 kills per set through 18 league matches. She also was fourth in points per set, averaging 4.24 throughout league play. Alt recorded 23 matches with double-figure kills throughout her fifth-year and tallied six double-doubles while averaging 2.14 digs per set. The Ottawa, Ohio native had 11 matches with a hitting percentage of .300 or above, including a career mark of .583 at Ohio on Oct. 5. Alt became the MAC's all-time kills leader and is the first player in conference history to record over 2,000 career terminations.

Freiberger averaged 5.65 digs per set throughout 18 league matches, the most of any player in the conference. She averaged 5.07 digs per set during her freshman campaign, which is 14th in the country and tied for first among all freshmen. The Lima, Ohio native recorded 27 matches with double-figure digs and tallied 30-plus digs three times, including a career-best 32 digs at Ohio on Oct. 4.

Pertzborn ranked seventh in the MAC in blocks per set, averaging 1.11. She recorded 113 total blocks throughout her freshman season, which ranks fifth all-time in Toledo single season records. The Middleton, Wis. native had nine matches with five or more blocks. Pertzborn totaled a career-best seven total blocks in three matches (Aug. 30 vs. Bucknell, Sept. 28 vs. Northern Illinois and Oct. 1 vs. Bowling Green).
