TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo women's volleyball team continues Mid-American Conference play this weekend with a trip to Athens, Ohio for a pair of matches.
Toledo and Ohio will begin the weekend series on Friday, Oct. 4 at 6:00 p.m. and will conclude it on Saturday, Oct. 5 at 4:00 p.m. Both matches will be streamed on ESPN+.
Ohio owns an overall record of 5-8 (1-1 MAC) after splitting its first weekend of conference play with Akron. Toledo enters the weekend with a record of 9-6 (2-1 MAC) after sweeping Northern Illinois in the conference-opening weekend and falling to Bowling Green on Tuesday.
ROCKET NOTES
- Toledo ranks second in the MAC in total service aces (106), good for 32nd in the country. Additionally, Toledo averages 1.89 aces per set which is second in the league and 28th nationally.
- Taylor Alt leads the conference in total kills (210) and kills per set (3.82). Her 210 total kills rank 34th in the country, while her 3.82 kills per set are good for 69th nationally.
- Alt has totaled 1,920 career kills, which is second among all active NCAA Division I players. She trails only Ohio State's Emily Londot (1,927). Additionally, Alt is tied for fifth all-time in kills in the MAC.
- Izzy Granger is second on the team and 11th in the league in kills per set (2.98). Granger also ranks second on the team in digs per set with 2.29, as she follows Grace Freiberger with 3.80 digs per set. Â
- Sophomore Macy Hatkevich's 388 total assists are fourth in the MAC, while her 6.93 assists per set are good for seventh in the league.
- Redshirt freshman Sierra Pertzborn has totaled 59 total blocks (1.11 blocks per set) throughout the season. She ranks third in the MAC and 67th nationally.
SCOUTING THE BOBCATS
- As a team, Ohio ranks fourth in the conference in assists per set (11.92) and kills per set (12.98).
- Sophomore Kam Hunt is third in the MAC in kills per set, averaging 3.67. Junior Anna Kharchyska ranks fourth with 3.62 kills per set.
- Sophomore libero Kendall Hickey is averaging 4.35 digs per set which is good for fourth in the league and 72nd in the nation.
SERIES STUFF
- Ohio leads the all-time series, 41-23.
- The Rockets and Bobcats split the series in 2023. Ohio took a 3-1 win at Savage Arena on Oct. 27, 2023, while Toledo grabbed a 3-1 win in the MAC Tournament Quarterfinals on Nov. 1, 2023.

Toledo will return to Savage Arena to host a pair of matches. The Rockets will welcome Central Michigan on Thursday, Oct. 10 at 6:00 p.m. and will wrap up play on Friday, Oct. 11 as Eastern Michigan comes to town. Both matches will be live on ESPN+.
