Toledo Cross Country Returns to Action at Sean Earl Lakefront in Chicago

Rockets take on national field in Chicago on Friday
TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo men's and women's cross country teams are back in action on Friday, Oct. 4  at the Sean Earl Loyola Lakefront Invitational hosted by Loyola Chicago. The meet's field includes Alabama, Butler, DePaul, Drake, Duke, Indiana, Louisville, Loyola, Minnesota, NC State, Ohio State, Texas, Tulane, UC Davis, Cal Poly and Wisconsin.
The race will begin with the women's 6K championships at 11:00 a.m. ET followed by the men's 8K championship at 11:40 a.m. ET. The women's 6K open is set to follow at 12:20 p.m. ET with the men's 8KÂ open wrapping up the race at 1:00 p.m. ET. The Rockets will run 10 student-athletes in both the men's and women's championship races while the rest of the squad will compete in the open races.
The Sean Earl Loyola Lakefront Invitational marks the third meet of the season for both teams. Both squads earned first-place finishes in their last outing at the We Fly MAC Championship Previews.
The women totaled 31 points in Muncie, Ind., edging out second-place Akron by one point. The Rockets had five runners finish in the top-10. Bailey Ranta secured a third-place finish (22:28.6) while Bella Earl followed in fourth (22:37.7). The top ten was rounded out by Jaydon Cirincione (6th/22:58.0), Aubrey Duhaime (8th/23:06.0) and Olivia Gang (10th/23:32.6).
The men placed first with a final score of 22 points, beating second-place Akron by 32 points. Toledo placed seven runners in the top-10, led by freshman Dominic Serem (23:26.1), Joad Martinho (24:13.8) and Loann Brelivet (24:57.6) taking first, second and fourth, respectively.
