TOLEDO, Ohio - The Toledo men's golf team will play its final tournament of the fall when it travels to the Sunshine State early next week to compete at the FAU Golf Invitational. The Rockets will be competing at the PGA National Resort in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. on Monday-Tuesday, Oct. 28-29.
The tournament will consist of 54 holes, with 36 holes on Monday and 18 being played on Tuesday. An 8:30 a.m. shotgun start will be used both days.
The Field
Toledo will be competing against a 12-team field that includes Abilene Christian, UAB, Central Arkansas, UCF, Jacksonville State, North Alabama, Seton Hall, USF, Stetson, Temple and the host Owls.
Last Time Out
Three Rockets posted Top 15 finishes to help Toledo tie for fourth place at Kentucky's Cullan Brown Collegiate. UT shot the best round of the tournament field in the final round with an eight-over par 294.
Junior Mads Jensen led the Rockets by tying for seventh place at eight-over par 221 for his second-consecutive Top 10 showing. Freshmen Bence Bertenyi (222) and Julius (223) each registered their best finish of the season by tying for 10th and 13th place, respectively.
Rockets in the Rankings
Toledo is one of two Mid-American Conference schools that are ranked in the Top 100 of the NCAA's Scoreboard Clippd rankings. The Rockets are No. 93 with Kent State at No. 77. Miami is at No. 102 and is followed by Northern Illinois (149), Eastern Michigan (163), Ball State (177), Bowling Green (204), Ohio (211), and Central Michigan (286)
