PRINCETON, N.J. / BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Toledo men's and women's cross country team wrapped up a two-meet day on Friday. The Rockets competed in the Princeton Fall Invite in Princeton, N.J. and the Falcon Invite in Bowling Green, Ohio.

Dominic Serem paced the men's team at the Princeton Fall Classic, finishing the 8K race with a final time of 22:43.9 to earn a third-place finish in a highly competitive national field. The men's team took 13th place overall. Sophomore Joad Martinho was the second Rocket to cross the finish line, taking 43rd overall with a time of 23:46.1.

"The men took a nice step forward today in a deep field against nationally ranked programs," said associate head coach Tito Medrano. "Overall, today puts us in a good spot heading into the MAC Championships. Dominic led the entire race and was right there to win it at the end, keeping up with some of the best athletes in the NCAA. I'm especially proud of Geoff and Joshuah for making a big jump in a field like this. We're building momentum at the right time!"

The women's team placed 17th in the 6K race at the Princeton Fall Classic. The Rockets were led by senior Alex Bauer who recorded a 72nd overall finish with a final time of 20:56.7. Junior Morgan Hicks followed behind finishing in 94th with a time of 21:07.6.

In the early evening, the Rockets competed in the Falcon Invitational at Bowling Green. The women's team had three runners in the 6K event, led by junior Aubrey Duhaime who finished in 13th with a time of 21:59.6. Senior Margrett Watt followed Duhaime, earning a 46th place-finish at 23:11.2. Junior Joy Chirchir took a 67th-place finish, grabbing a time of 23:55.2.

"I was proud of the women who raced and the nice race by Alex (Bauer) up front for us," said head coach Andrea Grove-McDonough. "It was a really great opportunity for them to have to put up a team score and feel the intensity of a race of this caliber. It will lay dividends in the future. Also, a really nice race by Aubrey Duhaime at BG today."

Tesfaye Young was the sole Rocket in the men's 8K race at Bowling Green. The redshirt freshman finished 31st in the event with a final mark of 26:32.7.
