TOLEDO, Ohio - Head women's volleyball coach
Jason Oliver announced on Tuesday that Caylee Sharkey (Sycamore, Ill.) has transferred to the University of Toledo after attending Mississippi State University for the last two years.
"I am very excited about Caylee joining our program, and her addition continues the success of our program's ability to attract transfers," Oliver said. "She has a drive and attention to detail that our team needs, and I think she is a great player. She will raise our overall ability to win a championship on the court and in the classroom. She is a true ROCKET through and through."
A 6-2 right-side hitter, Sharkey will have three years of eligibility remaining beginning with the 2024 campaign.
Sharkey appeared in 27 of 28 matches for the Bulldogs last season, averaging 1.01 kps and 0.37 bps. Sharkey earned a spot on the 2023 SEC Honor Roll and the 2023 President's List after sitting out as a redshirt in 2022.
Sharkey earned conference MVP and all-conference honors at Sycamore High School. She also was a three-time Academic All-American and Academic All-Conference selection.
At the club level, Sharkey played for Sports Performance VB where she was a three-time AAU Medalist at AAU Nationals, a two-time JVA World Challenger silver medalist, and a 2019 AAU All-American and All-State Honorable Mention.
