TOLEDO, Ohio – Mid-American Conference play begins this week for the Toledo women's volleyball team as it welcomes Eastern Michigan to Savage Arena for a pair of matches.

The Rockets and Eagles will face off on Thursday and Friday, with both matches starting at 6:00 p.m. on ESPN+.

Fans can purchase tickets online at UTRockets.com/tix, by phone at 419-530-GOLD (4653) or at the Rocket Ticket Office in Savage Arena.

Last Time Out
The Rockets ended non-conference play last weekend with a home-and-home series vs. Notre Dame. In last Friday's four-set loss at ND, Toledo dropped a close first set to fall behind in the match, but bounced back to win the second set and tie things up at 1-1. Despite solid play from UT, the Fighting Irish won the third and fourth sets by identical 25-20 scores to win the first of two meetings this weekend. On Sunday, 1,004 fans visited Savage Arena to watch Toledo host Notre Dame. After the Fighting Irish won the first set, 25-16, both teams competed in a lengthy second set. The Rockets would end up on the losing end of the second frame, 30-28, before falling 25-19 in the third set to conclude the match.

Rocket Notes
  • The Rockets have won five straight meetings against Eastern Michigan and have only dropped one set against EMU in their last five meetings.
  • Ryann Jaqua has 1,896 career digs entering play this weekend, most among active MAC players and eighth-most among all active players in Division I.
  • Jaqua is approaching 2,000 career digs, which would make her the second Rocket to ever reach that milestone. Former player and current assistant coach Maurissa Leonard is Toledo's all-time leader in career digs with 2,260.
  • Taylor Alt also ranks among the national leaders, sitting 11th in career kills/set at 3.94. That figure also ranks first in school history.
  • Alt has two matches with at least 20 kills this season, the only MAC player with that many.
About Eastern Michigan
Eastern Michigan enters play this week with a 2-10 record and a four-match losing streak, its last win coming vs. Chicago State on Sept. 8. Callie Minshew ranks seventh in the MAC in kills/set (3.33) and has hit double-digit kills in every match this season.
