Battle of I-75 between Rockets and Falcons will kick off at 7:00 p.m. on ESPN+
TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo women's soccer team will begin Mid-American Conference play this week with the annual Battle of I-75 with Bowling Green on Thursday, Sept. 21 at Paul Hotmer Field. UT will then head to Northern Illinois on Sunday, Sept. 24 for its first road contest in three weeks.

Four different Rockets scored en route to Toledo's 4-0 shutout vs. Chicago State on Sunday afternoon to end non-conference play with a 3-3-1 record. Toledo put up 21 shots, its second-most this year, and held the Cougars to a season-low two shots. Sophomores Brooklyn Whitehead and Alli Macbeth and junior Alexys LaDue all netted their first goals as Rockets, and redshirt freshman Brielle Young recorded her second shutout of the season.
Senior Madison Medalle enters conference play leading the league with six goals and 14 points. Medalle is pacing the Rockets with two assists (MAC #7), senior Grace Turski has a team-high 20 shots (MAC #6), and junior Olivia Dault has put a team-best eight shots on target (MAC #7). Young is at the top of the pack of league keepers with 28 saves and averages 4.67 saves per game (MAC #3).
Scouting the Competition
Bowling Green (2-4-0) has only played two games this month, falling 5-1 to Pittsburgh and 3-0 to No. 10 Notre Dame. Six different players have scored for the Falcons this season, led by Lacee Bethea who has targeted six of 10 shots on goal. Goalkeeper Madison Vukas has allowed five goals with a .750 save percentage.
Northern Illinois (2-3-2) is bringing a four-match winless streak into conference play this week. The Huskies are led by Isabel Strubel with two goals and a .400 shooting percentage. The Huskies' Sadie McGill has 15 saves and has allowed four goals in six games this year.
Toledo leads its all-time series vs. Bowling Green by a 15-10-5 margin and holds an 18-9-2 advantage vs. Northern Illinois.
