TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo women's volleyball team hosts Wright State on Saturday in an exhibition match ahead of the 2023 regular season. The Rockets and Raiders will square off at 3:00 p.m. at Savage Arena.
Saturday's match is open to the public and admission is free.
Toledo welcomes back 12 letterwinners from a year ago, including three-time All-MAC honoree Taylor Alt and fifth-year seniors Ryann Jaqua and Rhyenne Filisi. Alt led the MAC in both kills (4.12/set) and scoring (4.75 points/set) last season and Jaqua ranked third in the MAC and 20th in the nation in digs/set (5.04). The Rockets went 19-13 and earned their second-straight NIVC berth, toppling Clemson in the first round.
Wright State won the Horizon League last season, going 28-4 with a perfect 18-0 record in league play, and has played in three of the last four NCAA Tournaments.
Toledo will open its regular season next weekend, Aug. 25-26, in Winston-Salem, N.C. at a tournament hosted by Wake Forest. The Rockets will face the host Demon Deacons as well as Northeastern and Grand Canyon in their first matches of the season.
