TOLEDO, Ohio – Toledo's

Lexi Eckman, and
Sidney Griffith will pack their bags and head to Australia to compete in the 12-day, 2023 Beyond Sports Softball DI Softball Tour on June 12-23 in Australia.
The team is made up of two rosters, a 12-player and an 11-player, from other Division I schools. The Rockets, all on the 11-player roster, will play against top softball club teams and explore Australia's major cities of Sydney, Brisbane and Gold Coast.
A second-team All-MAC honoree, Kroll started all 43 games primarily at third base. She led the Rockets' offense in batting average (.348/ 10th MAC), slugging percentage (.568), RBIs (29), home runs (eight), and walks (19). The highlight play for the Commerce, Mich., native was a grand slam in the fifth inning vs. Bellarmine that gave the Rockets a 6-5 win, its first of the season, on Feb. 10.
Eckman made 34 appearances, mostly in center field for the Rockets this past season, with a .922 fielding percentage. At the plate, she hit .218 with two doubles and drove in five RBIs, and ranked second on the team with 10 stolen bases in 12 attempts. Originally from North Canton, Ohio, Eckman recorded a career-high four hits vs. Presbyterian (Feb. 11) at the Pinnacle Blue Hose Invitational and two stolen bases vs. Penn (March 10) at the UCF Invitational.
Griffith started in 42 games at shortstop in 2023. The Ashtabula, Ohio native had a .910 fielding percentage and hit .225 with 15 runs scored, five doubles, one triple, and drove in eight RBIs. Griffith connected on a season-high three hits including a triple at Ball State on April 8.
