TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo baseball team faces Purdue Fort Wayne on Tuesday afternoon in non-conference action.
Tuesday's road game against the Mastodons is set for 3:00 p.m. Toledo was scheduled to face Dayton at home on Wednesday, but that game has been canceled due to forecasted inclement weather.
The Rockets (13-13, 6-6 MAC) had won four games in a row before dropping both games of a Sunday doubleheader at Kent State. Four weeks into MAC play Toledo sits in a tie for fifth place in the conference standings, just behind Central Michigan (14-12, 5-4) for a top-four spot. The top four teams advance to the MAC Tournament following the conclusion of the regular season.
Last Time Out
Toledo visited Kent State last weekend and dropped two out of three against the Golden Flashes.
In the 7-6 win on Friday, The Rockets scored the first two runs of the game in the top of the first and never trailed for the rest of the evening. The Golden Flashes did tie the game in the bottom of the fifth, but UT scored the eventual winning run in the top of the seventh and the bullpen held firm in the final innings
The two teams did not play on Saturday due to inclement weather, instead playing a doubleheader on Sunday. Kent State won the first game of the twin bill, 6-3, before walking off the Rockets in game two to take the series.
