Toledo Heads to Ohio for Final Mid-Week Matchup

Rockets and Bobcats will play one game on Tuesday and a doubleheader on Wednesday in Athens
TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo softball team will play its final road series this week in Athens, Ohio for a mid-week matchup against Ohio. The Rockets and Bobcats will play three games this Tuesday-Wednesday, April 25-26.

About Toledo (18-22, 11-11 MAC)
Toledo won two of three games over Northern Illinois over the weekend, its second-straight series win to even its conference play at 11-11. UT's 14 hits in their 12-6 victory on Saturday tied for its most in a single game this season. The Rockets won the finale and clinched the series in a 6-5 (8 inn.) victory thanks to a walk-off single by Aleah Marra.  Senior Aubrey Reed led the pack, going 4-for-9 with one home run and three RBIs over three games. The Rockets crushed five total balls over the fences this weekend, two from Leah Munson in the series finale on Sunday, one from Reed, one from Lauren Erickson and another from Jenna Kroll.

Ohio split its doubleheader with Northern Illinois on April 15 before the final game of the series was canceled. The Bobcats are third in the conference with a combined .290 batting average and are led by Alexis Dawe who is hitting .369 (6th MAC), while Annalia Paoli leads the team with 45 hits (9th MAC), 35 RBIs (5th MAC), and 10 doubles (9th MAC). Skipp Miller is the leading pitcher for Ohio with a 2.73 ERA (4th MAC) amnd 93 strike outs (7th MAC).
Ohio is currently second in the conference standings, behind Miami (27-16, 14-6 MAC) with the top four teams advancing to the play in the MAC Softball Tournament on May 11-13.
On Deck
Toledo will play its final regular-season series at home on vs. Western Michigan at Scott Park, and honor their six seniors at the Saturday, May 6 doubleheader.
