Sophomore Sydney Caddell has highest Toledo finish as runner-up in the long jump

TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo women's track & field team wrapped up the Bryan Clay Invitational and Tiffin Track Carnival with a combined five personal-bests. Sophomore Sydney Caddell led the group in Tiffin with a second-place finish in the long jump, and junior Lou Trois led a group of three distance runners in the 1500m at Azusa Pacific.

Caddell set a personal record in the long jump for the second-straight day at the Tiffin Track Carnival, reaching a mark of 5.67m to finish second. The sophomore also competed in the triple jump, placing fifth with a mark of 10.35m

Three Rockets competed in the 200m in Tiffin, all posting new PRs. Freshman Khamani Jones finished 10^th with a time of 25.87, tying Ava Moran for the fastest time by a Rocket this season. Freshman Laryah Worthy and sophomore Jimesha Ragland finished back-to-back in 15^th and 16^th, recording times of 26.28 and 26.37, respectively.

Three Rockets ran in the 1500m on the last day in Azusa, Calif. Junior Lou Trois led off the Rockets' trip with a time of 4:24.90, the fastest time by a Rocket this season. Sophomore Alex Bauer followed with a PR time of 4:26.96, and Krystal Clark rounded out the group with a time of 4:30.11.

Dennis Mutai of the Toledo men's cross country team took the crown in the 5000m invite at Bucknell's Bison Outdoor Classic. The sophomore posted a time of 14:00.78, finishing nearly 15 seconds ahead of the second-place runner.

Toledo will split next weekend between two meets. One group of Rockets will compete in the Virginia Challenge on Thursday-Saturday, April 20-22. Another group will head to Columbus, Ohio, for the Jesse Owens Track Classic on Friday-Saturday, April 21-22.
